STOP THE BLEED training strengthens emergency response in Ecuador – June 2025
The Ecuadorian Research and Training Center successfully held the specialized workshop "STOP THE BLEED - Hemorrhage Control" in mid-June with the technical support of the American College of Surgeons (ACS) guidelines. This international program, designed to save lives in the critical first minutes after a traumatic injury, was taught to healthcare professionals, pre-hospital personnel, and emergency medical personnel, who learned and practiced essential techniques for the immediate control of massive hemorrhage, one of the leading causes of preventable death in trauma settings. The training covered key competencies such as: ✔️ Identification of life-threatening hemorrhages ✔️ Correct application of commercial tourniquets ✔️ Direct compression and wound packing techniques ✔️ Rapid response protocols in high-pressure environments
